Enrollment & Next Steps

Upon receipt of enrollment acceptance, families have until 11:59 PM on February 23 to complete the required student entry forms. If forms are not submitted prior to the February 23 deadline, acceptance will be forfeited.

Thursday, August 6, 2026.
This coincides with the first day of school for all McKeel campuses.

McKeel Academy Mulberry is affiliated with the Lakeland based, High-Performing, not-for-profit charter school system of The Schools of McKeel Academy and operates under the same mission, values, and high academic expectations as our other campuses.

Families can expect the same commitment to academic excellence and community. While each campus has unique characteristics, McKeel Academy Mulberry will reflect our trusted McKeel framework and mission with an emphasis on collaborative teaching methods that utilizes green space learning and hands on experiences that incorporate innovation — the bedrock of TSMA.

Academics & Learning

As required by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), McKeel Academy Mulberry will adhere to state learning standards, with focus on critical thinking, student collaboration and immersive engagement.

Class size will align with FDOE requirements and McKeel’s commitment to maintaining strong student-teacher relationships.
PreK: 20 students
K-3: 18 students
4-6: 22 students

Hiring is taking place now, well in advance of opening to ensure staff are fully prepared and trained for our inaugural year. Teachers will be selected carefully and trained in alignment with TSMA’s academic and professional standards and expectations.

School Day & Communications

School hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Information and fees regarding Cat Care will be shared late summer.

During the school year, families can expect to receive communication through the email of record, school website and school-approved social platforms. Until the onset of the school year, information will be made available on the school website mckeelmulberry.com, mckeelschools.com and social media platforms associated with The Schools of McKeel Academy for relevant system wide information.

Bus Service & Car Riders

Bus stops and routes will be will be provided at orientation, before the first day of school.

Car line procedures, including campus traffic flow will be provided before the first day of school.

Safety & Student Well-Being

Student safety is a top priority. McKeel Academy Mulberry will follow established TSMA safety protocols, school volunteer policies, and emergency procedures in accordance with the Polk County Sheriffs Office and the Department of Safe Schools.

TSMA emphasizes social-emotional development, positive relationships, and a supportive learning environment. McKeel Academy Mulberry will have access to a licensed mental health counselor on staff with TSMA.

Opportunities for school clubs and activities will be introduced as the campus grows.

Family Involvement & Volunteerism

Family involvement is valued across TSMA. Opportunities for parent engagement and volunteerism will be shared as the campus opens.

Special events, family gatherings, and intentional communication will help establish a strong inaugural year for our McKeel Academy Mulberry community. More information will follow at the onset of the school year.
